Hello!

My name is Ryan Thomas and I'm a graphic designer based in Adelaide, South Australia. I design for print, web and I also take photos.

Education

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in multimedia) from the University of South Australia. I have also completed a Diploma of Advertising and Graphic Design at Tea Tree Gully TAFE.

Web
I design and build each website from scratch. I don't buy templates and stick your logo in it. Each one is built to address the needs your business. If you already have a design I can build it for you. If you need a content managed site, I can build that too. I use an open source content management system called Joomla. If you already have a programmer building your content management system I can work with them to build the design. There's always lots of options for what will suit your needs. Contact me. We'll work something out.

My process

Step 1 - The Brief

I will discuss the requirements of the project with you. You tell me what you want and I'll ask you some questions. I'll then go away and write a brief which outlines all the requirements we've discussed. This makes sure we're both on the same page. Once you're happy with the brief we can move on to step 2.

Step 2 - Concepts

I will go ahead and do some very rough pencil sketches and concepts and present those back to you. We will go through them and you tell me which ideas you like the best. You can mix and match ideas here if you like. Changes are easy at this point. Eventually, we will have one final concept that I will then take to design stage.

Step 3 - Design

At this stage I will do the design based on our final concept. Once finished I will present this to you for approval. Changes at this stage should only be very minor. Once you approve it we can move on. If this is a print design I will send the design to the printer and have them delivered to you. If it's a web site we move on to step 4.

Step 4 - Build (websites)

Now production of the website begins. I will build the design that has been approved and test it to ensure it looks good and works in all major browsers. If this is a static website, you will supply me with final copy and images and I will add them to the website. If this is a content managed website we move on to step 5.

Step 5 - Training (content managed websites)

I will show you how to add content to your new website and then you can go along your merry way adding all your content. You can also let me know if you need some help of course. Once you're done we're ready for launch!

Step 6 - Launch (websites)

Once you are happy with the content, we can make the site live!
