Zoos SA (Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Zoo) needed an intranet for their staff. They wanted to make sure staff were kept in the loop with what's going on in the zoo (events, planning, construction, policies and procedures, etc). I set about designing this based on the Zoos SA style guide (fonts and colours). I wanted to incorporate the environment/conservation component of the organisation. Afterall that's what their about. I also wanted to show the contrast between the properties; Adelaide Zoo is lush and green while Monarto Zoo is quite dry and arid feeling.
Zoos SA have just opened up the Westpac Envirodome interactive conservation centre to the public. Also coinciding with this was the launch of the website. The Envirodome website needed to represent the look and feel of the centre itself. This was a bit of an uphill battle this one as I needed to develop it in Web Template which is a proprietary CMS owned by Bridgehead. I had no documentation and no one to help me ($75 for a help desk call to Bridgehead = don't call unless you're desperate). This site has a cool little Flash banner on the home page. Make sure you run your mouse over some of the animals in the banner for a little treat!
This one was also done a while back now. I had been maintaining the Ceramic World website when they approached me to do a redesign. They wanted a more modern, and sleek looking design. This site incorporates two flash slideshows. One on the home page and an interactive one on the 'Concepts' page.
This was a website I designed a while back now. I had taken over maintaining the website from someone else but it was becoming cumbersome to update. Not to mention the site was built on tables and font tags! I decided it was time for a redesign so I put some ideas forward to Topgun and eventually I came up with this.
Last week Adelaide Zoo opened a new interactive conservation centre and new education. Since I work there I took the family along for the opening day on the Sunday. I grabbed these shots along the way.
