This was taken last autumn somewhere near Stirling in the Adelaide Hills. I saw this old gate on the drive home and had to take the shot.

This one took me a little while but I'm pretty happy with the result. This is Dexter (from the TV series of the same name) painted in Corel Painter using mostly Artist's Oils. It's my first attempt at a colour portrait and really the most I've used Painter.

Painting the blood splatter on the side of his face was the best part of it. I spent most of my time on the eyes and could probably spend some more time on it (if I had any!!).

Click on read more below to see some detail of the portrait.

A 'little' romance Print E-mail

An interspecies romance between an ant and a ladybird. They're enjoying the sunset from atop their eggplant house. This one is going up in my daughter's room. Smile

This soft pastel on Canson card. I also used black and white charcoal pencils to put some detail back into the characters.

My Daughter Print E-mail

You may have guessed by the title that this gorgeous girl (I'm not biased at all) is my daughter. I painted this in Photoshop from a photo I took of her on her swing in our backyard. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's almost photorealistic but just painterly enough.

I'm usually not really into photorealistic painting. I always think; why not just take a photo? I could have it printed before you've even finished setting up the canvas! Unless of course your painting something that doesn't exist for example and so you can't photograph it. Otherwise, if it's a painting, it should look like a painting. The same goes for vector art I think...but i'm rambling now so i'll stop.

Little Dreamers website Print E-mail

I saw these guys on 9am one morning and liked the sound of their charity. I checked their website and saw they didn't have one yet an so I offered to build one for them as a donation to the charity. Little Dreamers is run by three young adults and is a charity to help the siblings of seriously ill children. The children that often feel a little forgotten because their parents are busy looking after their ill child.

This site was fun to design and actually came together very quickly. I particularly like the fairy and her trail of fairy dust
